REPLY: I don't know the man myself .. so I am ONLY GUESSING here.
I would think it MIGHT be due to the fact he has "been there, done that" .. Mr. Fink and Mrs Kirkpatrick are relatively new to the political forum .. and the public relations that go with it. Mr Scahill has carried the torch 1,000 times in the past .. he has been the center of attention, both good and bad, more times than he may have wanted too.
I would hope the newcomers keep that enthusiasm and openess for as long as they remain in the game !! Mr. Scahill may well suffer from all the years of backlash and bashing he has endured.
I am certainly not saying I agree with him keeping a low profile .. but just suggesting that HE may well believe that the less he speaks .. the less negative public feedback may be stirred.
I bet people in general will accept the new faces, ideas and direction better. We probably will tend to blame ALL the old negativity toward the "OLD COMMISIONERS" on the only one left.
