Ames left because the whole company shut down about this time last year.
I thought that Hills was out of business, too. Didn't Ames buy them out several years ago?
I could see a Target closer to Butler, or Indiana or points south, but I don't think they tend to go into more "rural" areas. From what I've seen, they usually plant themselves near an established large shopping mall.
: There has been a rumor about Lowes coming for some time now. I wouldn't hold my breath though. We were also rumored to be getting a K Mart and a Hills. K Mart, possibly, but Hills is VERY doubtful:) Butler also has a Walmart and we got one, so why would that stop them? They also have Big Lots, Dollar stores... They are getting (is it opened yet?) a Tractor Supply like we are. There was a theory that where ever Walmarts went Lowes followed. I would like to see a Target. Walmart needs the competition and I for one would like to have more of a choice in shopping with out driving 20 miles. I love that we have a Big Lots, but the clothing is limited.
