Yes, it is unfair. The kids work very hard only to be "directed" onto a
bus before preforming. If the band director does not want to get wet,he
should find another job. He IS getting paid isn't he?
It is also unfair to the Ford City and Kittanning JV Players that
someone chose to cancell the Saturday morning JV Game at Kittanning. The
JV players I am sure were looking forward to playing a game. The players
practice all summer, and every day after school, only to have the game
called. Why? Those kids work hard and practice for nothing.
You ask of the kids what you are not willing to give. Devotion,
Loyalty, Effort. Cancelling their game displayed none of those
attributes. Remember that when you are chewing out a kid for lack of
effort.
It is unfair to their Kittanning Football Mothers Club that they loose
the concession stand money for that day. The mothers clubs usually raise
money to feed the coaches at an anual banquet. Do the coaches want to eat
TV dinners? If the mothers can't do the job, the team gets no banquet,
the kids no lettermenjackets, etc.
It is unfair that their Quarterback Club loose money also. No game, no
50-50, no program sales= no money to support the program.
