This might interest some of you.... Big Brothers, Big Sisters has volunteer needs/openings other than being a big brother or big sister. If committing a certain number of hours in advance is scary, maybe you can help one event at a time in the background. Marci Creel told me their Bowlathon fundraiser will be May 6th this year and they have launched a new program intended to keep first-time-offender kids out of the formal court system. I've volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, DKI, American Red Cross, and others. What I get there is the only paycheck that outlasts the economy and tax day.
