WOW, not sure where you went to school Jenny, but my brother very much enjoyed the senior year at Armstrong Central 1st year. There weren't 2 kings and queens of anything. I do think that they did increase the courts, but that would be expected when you increase the school population. I am positive there was only one prom king, it was Ken. The queen was Carey Clark. Both from Kittanning. If my memory serves me right, the homecoming queen was from Ford City. No one wanted to consolidate, but when it was placed in front of them, the majority took on the challenge. Some things were doubled that year because they had already been chosen, some examples The class officers, Student Council Officers, cheerleaders.

I remember seeing so many neat things that year. Although many students would have preferred to be in their high school, a theme was established "A New Breed of CAT!!" It was so appropriate. As soon as the students began to adjust we put them back because the adults didn't want to see the growth that was occuring. As I watched my brother very much enjoy setting records and making new friends, as a college student, I was very envious of the friendships that he was building with the Ford City kids.

There are so many benefits to consolidation. I don't want to debate it, but so many just don't even want to consider what would be saved by consolidation. When the deconsolidation happened I think it was brought on by the Ford City group.

As for the reunion, I recall my brother talking about an invitation and sending a check. Unless they had a small response, I assume that the reunion might have happened.

Well, off my soap box for now. Have a great one.

> I was the first graduating class of Armstrong Central Senior High, the consolidated Kittg/FC high schools. We did not tolerate it well. We had 2 homecoming kings & queens (same w/the prom), we had 2 student presidents, 2 student councils, so that the Kittg & FC kids would all be included properly. Now it was time for our reunion last summer, and we couldn't even get things organized enough to have one, because nobody knows who's in charge because of the clusterf&ck of our senior year. Then they spend how much money on new team uniforms & new logos & everything else, and a few years later they change it all big. Big waste of time, big waste of money. I don't live in Kittg anymore but if I did, I would be against the consolidation of the 2 high schools.
