Let's give our police officer's the same chance to prove them selves. Before they have to go to another town like you had to,To get any where in life
> I'm not so sure that anyone actually "gave" them a chance as their own credentials spoke for themselves. You do not just get accepted to the State Police Academy/AG's Office/FBI because someone "gives" you a chance. You alone have to pass all of the test, requirements, etc and if you don't cut the mustard, you do not go. These days you have to have so many college credits prior to even applying for the state. Our police dept is very dear to my heart naturally, however, you do not move up any ladder because someone wants to give you a chance. I too in most instances would like to take care of our own, but I am also open minded enough to accept that you do not just give someone such an important position because they happen to live in town. I have not seen the applications and do not have a clue what the vote may be, but IF the one from out of town is best qualified then I would expect our leaders to go with the best for all of us. We should not shun experience and knowledge just because it is not from within. And by the way....so far we have not had to go to another town to get anywhere, we are content here, but if we ever do leave the area, I can only hope we would be accepted into our new location.
Exactly my point, They were given the opertunity to take the test to see if they did qualify,I guess our city official's should raise the standards for being a police officer,But some do not have the opertunity to get a college education as do others,But who ever get's it I wish him a lot of luck.
