hope they do the right thing? It sounds real nice in theory and hopefully, for your sake, that it will work out for you. When your child comes home and tells you that him and his friends were smoking pot, how open and caring do you plan to be? Are you going to have a huge discussion about the do's & don'ts of pot smoking and let him go out the next night with the same group of friends, or are you going to ground his little butt until he can prove that he can be trusted and never let him around that group of people again?
Being open and caring works really well if your child is feeling the pressure of whether or not to color his hair black, but when it comes to their safety, and decisions that could damage them for life, I'll take the fear factor any day. It worked wonders for me and my sisters.
That's JMO though.
