: : : : : : These kids won't starve because they miss a pizza party, there will be enough pizza wasted and thrown away to feed any starving kids. You need to wake up .I might care more than you think, I do believe the kids should follow the rules - if they don't sell any pizza, no party, the little darlings will survive the terrible ordeal.
: : : : : First off the kids are not selling pizza?? And it's not just a pizza party, it's large inflatable rides and games being brought in....so the EXCLUDED children I guess get to watch out the window at their "peers" while they stay inside. rwb, I can tell that you are the kind of person who just likes to argue, even when you have no point or cause. I can tell by the way you talk about children, you are probably not a parent, or you just lack compassion, and that's a scary thing.
: : : : So I guess you're a welfare queen or a tree hugger. Give to all.. give to all. BS. That's why this country is so messed up. Everyone wants something handed to them instead of working for it. Don't let your kid walk door to door. WALK WITH THEM. I know this may cut down on your internet or tv time but give it a try.
: : : No sir I am neither, if caring about others makes me a tree hugger then I guess you can label me what you want. Back in the day we sold candy bars, etc., kids are now expected to sell much more expensive items, which poses the problem of actually selling this stuff. I believe the problem with this country is that people don't care anymore, I take it you don't "GIVE" to any charities, because according to you that's just wrong. This country is messed up because it lacks compassion, people have just stopped caring...it's funny right after 9/11 people were so united, see how quickly that idea disappeared.
: : If you are so caring and concerned, buy the 12 items and your kids will have it all.I suppose you are one that believe that every kid that tries out for a sport should make it, or every kid should pass even if their grades and attitude stink, some day your kids will have to do things on their own and you won't be there to help them, it happens to us all, if they are so used to someone doing it for them or handing it to them they will be in trouble. It is wonderful to be a caring person but all things cannot be made right.Kids have to make their own decisions and have their own thoughts and feelings. They have to learn no and yes and respect them. If a family doesn't have the money to purchase the items the kids have to understand that and accept.Kids are much more resilent than you give them credit for and much smarter too, if they can give you the sad looks or teary eyes and you fall apart and give them what they want, you think they don't learn that , fast? Sure I would feel bad for the kids that couldn't go to the party if their family didn't have enough money to purchase the items but it wouldn't be the first time they were disappointed and probably won't be the last.
: Perhaps you should work with less fortunate children, and then you may see my point. I don't believe in teaching elementary students the lessons you suggest. Discrimination and Segregation are ILLEGAL, I will not teach my child otherwise. Perhaps we should start racial segregation again, being that you are giving the ok to social segregation, it's all the same.
No mamn, I am talking about the ideals this country was founded upon. You have to work for what you want , someone won't hand it to you just because another person has it. Remember in the bible, the land owner hired people to harvest his fields, some early in the morning, others throughout the day until almost the end of the workday. He paid them all the same wage and the ones hired first complained they should have received more because they worked all day while some only worked an hour or two and got the same pay.You would have yelled discrimination, social by the way, and the land owner said they got paid what they bargained for.
By the way I worked with mentally challenged people for seven years, I count many unfortunate people as my friends. They are proud, they want to work for what they have, if they are able. You appear to want something handed to you, I hope I am wrong in that thought and apologize if I am.
