: Sorry, but I think it is more likely that people around here distrust them because we were all raised that way. Our fathers and mothers worked in mills and plants, belonged to unions, voted strictly democrat because that was who was for the "little people," and were taught thatt anyone with money or involved in ownership or management is untrustworthy and out to screw us. WE are a small blue collar town. Unfortunately, there just aren't any blue collar jobs left. And that is partially due to the fact that we refuse to understand that those bad, bad rich folks are the ones who employ the blue collar workers.
Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that we weren't taught that for some very good reasons. Greed has been the cause of many a blue collar guy or girl becomming unemployed. Big money folks obviously want bigger money and want to keep as much of it as they can. That is a given though - that's why they're in business. We just need to learn that it is a necessary relationship and go into everything with lots of review, care, and consideration. Bottom line though - we need them, they need us. If we don't give them the opportunity to move in here, we only keep ourselves down. At least these people mentioned seem to have connection and care for the area. They take initiative and want to grown businesses here and maintain those connections. That's better than some unknown entity coming along with lots of promises and then leaving once they have reached their projected level of profit.
