If the original decision would have been to build a closed mall like Clearview or Indiana, instead of the 'open air' design that became Franklin Village, Kittanning would have had many years of money and people coming into the area. The decision to build a strip mall (which if the talk about the Ames structure turns out to be true will be an ironically literal term) was one of the worst decisions our leaders have ever made (probably #2 to fighting having the main IUP campus in Kittanning).

In today's economic world, the major players are going into the diversity realm (see Super Wal-Marts) in an effort to capture the one-stop-shopping customers.

Malls were a great place when life was a lot less hectic and people had more free time to enjoy. A mall isn't a bad idea, if only this were 1982.
