I don't think most that post want to make a difference just to cut someone or something down. They are passionate if you want to take their guns away or talk about school consolidation but generally they have nothing new to add to make the area a better place.

Kittanning WASN'T a ghost town back when people HAD to go through it. It USED to be a pretty major town. Look at the old pictures. It was boomin'. Kennedy was here. Hell even in the 70's there was still a lot of action downtown in the evenings. I can remember going to the State Theater and there were people all over the place.

: PPG sure did close due to outsourcing. They built three new lines in China, the floating glass line was destined for F.C. at one point in time. You can still read about their outsourcing in their newsletter. They have increased their productivity in China by over 40% over the last 10 years. totally false statement. The only thing they wanted to do was break the unions, so they could pay peasant wages to other people in other countries. Unions had nothing to do with it. They wanted to pay slave labor wages elsewhere.
You are wrong, there never was a float line at FC PPG, the union turned it down in 1959 and it went to Meadville not China.In 1994 there wsas a coating lineat FC and it was sold to a competitor in the U.S. The unions are broken, FC is closed and Creighton is for sale( a manufacture replacement and new car winshields). The float lines in China have nothing to do with FC at all. Plus PPG is looking to get totally out of the glass business in the U.S. because it is not profitable.
