: : : I was rereading some old posts and I found this interesting.
: : : ": Does anyone know the total number of actual teachers that are employed in ASD??
: : : : Teachers/Instructors only. Not Principals, Administrators, Healthcare Professionals, etc.
: : : 487.5 according to the most recent Pittsburgh Business Times Guide to Western PA Schools"
: : : If you go back to the Leader Times article from 2005 when they passed the last contract there were 483 teachers in the district.
: : : This was PRIOR to the West Hills consolidation, which closed TWO schools and was supposedly going to REDUCE the number of teachers in the distrcit.
: : : To summarize, they closed two schools and not only didn't REDUCE the number of teachers in the district, but apparently ADDED 4 1/2.
: : : How does this happen?
: : : Why would anybody believe the same would not occur if they consolidated the high schools?
: : Who cares.....dead horse..
: Just because you don't care doesn't mean nobody else does.
: Maybe you are one of the ones who stand to benefit. Maybe you just don't want these things discussed because you don't want things exposed.
: Whatever your reasons, if you don't like it, don't read it and don't reply to it.
: It's that simple.
What does it matter, a couple of you will cry about 4 1/2 teachers then go back to your dull life and complain a little again if someone posts something else like you are making a difference, you are,'t. Marco this is not a progressive area, it is regressive. Just like Bryan said , there are many complainers here but few doers, the complainers think someone will read their complaint and act on it- don't hold your breath.
