: That would be impossible, but not just because all politicians lie. The fact is that all human beings lie. I'm quite sure that the person calling people idiots has lied in the past at some point. I am equally sure that the person defending the politicians has lied. I know I have lied, and if you're reading this I am sure you have lied too. I'm not saying we should condone it or allow it to go unpunished when it is exposed. I would suggest that maybe we try not holding anyone to a standard that is unatainable by anyone and then focus on the real issues and how they are being handled by individuals.
Now there’s a defeatist attitude. Why can’t we expect politicians to tell the truth? We expect that from certain professions like police, clergy, teachers, etc. Why can’t we expect and demand a higher standard from the people who work for us!
