The estimates for a basica renovation were much, much lower. : : : : : He also fails to mention that the $136 million estimate (actual amount) estimate ALSO included renovations to Elderton Elem., Kittanning Twp. Elem., Shannock Valley Elem., Kittanning Junior High, and West Shamokin high. : : : : : Even with a brand new consolidated school, renovations to these schools will stil need to be done, and will be an additional cost over and above the cost of the new consolidated school. : : : : : He also refers to the bulding of this new consolidated school as a "one time cost". Kittanning was just completely redone less tahn 25 years ago. Shammokin igh was just built less than 10 years ago. Both of these schools are now supposedly in terrible condition. Yet this clown seems to figure that once a new school is built, we will never have to put another dime into it, or, apparently, any of the other buildings. : : : : : I would also imagine he ran this letter by Nortrup before submitting it...if he didn't in fact help him write it. : : : : : Regardless, these are the views Nortrup shares. : : : : : This is the idiocy behind the consolidati. : : : : : This is the way they try to spin the consolidation numbers. : : : : West Shamokin was never deemed to be in terrible shape. It received an excellent inspection by the architects and the only suggestion for renovation was to add some labs. : : : : Level 1 cost estimate = $0 : : : : Level 2 cost estimate = $0 : : : : Level 3 cost estimate = $3.94M : : : : Once again, someone thinking they have all the answers and ready to fight "change". The REAL irony is that you claim this is the way they spin the consolidation number when, in fact, you're the one with the incorrect numbers. : : : : : : If Shammokin is not in bad shape, why does the $136 million renovation estimate include renovations to that building? : : : Can you tell me that? : : : If it recieved such high marks, why was it included in the estimate? : : : One of two things has apparently happened here. : : : Either the board has let the building fall apart in a matter of a few years, or the board had unneeded work included in an inflated estimate so that it could be used as a reason to build a new school. : : : Whatever happened there, it still doesn't change the fact that this Hess guy is using the estimate for 8 schools as a reason to consolidate 3. : : Sounds good to me, Nortrup gets my vote, thanjs to you Jonnie, : You probably don't even get your sorry ass out of your house to vote.
