So I dont live in the Kittanning area anymore, but read the LT article on the police citing residents (including the elderly) for not clearing off walks.
This is ridiculous. Does the borough need cash that bad? Or is there really that little to do there for the cops?
I bet the borough wasnt on top of cleaning the snow off the streets, towns usually arent. I say write up a law that says if a street isnt clear 24 hrs after a storm, the borough gives back taxpayer money.. the flakes wouldnt have a chance to hit the road probably.
Cassesse said in the article "the elderly need to arrange for someone to clear their walks before a storm". So these old people not only have to be weather forecasters, they also need to have extra spending cash to pay someone to do it, or to pay these idiotic fines.
Hey Ed, why dont you volunteer to clean those walks yourself? Protect and serve right? Nah, bitch and fine is more like it.
