But now they most certainly do not. People are saying that we are so far behind in science that as freshmen in college, people who graduate with honors from Kittanning have to take extra math and science courses, just to get caught up. Why couldn't we have a school like Pine Richland. Why couldn't our sports teams have places to practice. It's not just education but sports too! Do you want all the kids around here to look like pigs? To get into a college, you have to be well rounded.. which includes academics and sports. Kittanning has neither. With so much talent on the basketball team why should we have done so poorly? Bad coaching. If we could combine our talent with ford cities coaching, we could do something. We have no track to practice on. no soccer field no swimming pool and our hockey players have to practice at rediculous times because they can't get ice time. its awful. so not only are our kids getting poor educations. they don't even have good places to practice sports. it's the same old, same old... our kids boo-hoo, there is a plain and simple truth.Kids years ago went to shitty schools and the teachers made peanuts but they learned, because the parents pushed them, the teachers didn't pass out grades just to keep them moving up. Forget all the extra cirricular activities and crack the books. Don't make excuses for the kids , let them fail, don't always tell them it isn't your fault, if they made a mistake it is their fault. Make them responsible for their actions.Quit pissing and moaning about the schools, if they desire to learn they will , if they think mommy and daddy will support them forever, then why study?
