: : : : And then there is Pascal. I think you will find out he is trying to get the signatures he needs by Tuesday to throw his hat in the ring too.
: : : When Valasek ran, I don't think he did anything that made him win the position , it was just a matter of where he lived and did live. The average voter knows little about any of their qualifications, they just vote on who they like or may have heard something about them.

: : It is a popularity contest. Most of them are. You either get your name recognized or you dont. What are your opinions on some of the other races for county officials?
: I know Valasek will be hard to replace. I was impressed by him. Once in a court matter I witnessed, some shister lawyer was helping some woman sell her structured settlement. The Lawyer wanted a ungodly amount of money for his work. Valasek made him reduce the legal costs nearly in half before he would sign off. The second one was more recent. A young man, who already should have been in jail was up for sentancing. The young man had apparently worked a deal with the DA'S office and the DA recommended two years probation and time served. Valasek said no and sentenced him to two years in prison. Now I was not at that sentancing but this was reported by the young man who was really pissed at Valasek.
: Valasek was a good judge and it will be hard for any of the candidates to fill his shoes.
Valasek isn't retiring, Nickleach is.
