This weekend past the Pennsylvaina Junior Academy Of Science competition took place. The turn out from Armstrong School District was embarrassing. Elderton High did send several. Kittanning High School sent 2 kids. 1 sophmore and 1 senior. Ford City High sent 0 kids. Granted this competition is voluntary for the children, it was just disappinting to see so many other schools represented so well. The sophmore from Kittanning came back and said she was actually embarrassed about how far behind she is in comuter science. class that are offered to her as a sophmore are taught in many schools in 7th and 8th grade. She is actually rehinking what she might want to major in because she is so far behind the kids from other districts? How Does a gifted Honors student get so far behind kids her own age in other districts?
