Kittanning was NOT named for any "Kit-Han-E" Indians. There were no Native American tribes by that name in Pennsylvania.

Kittanning was a Delaware (or Lenni Lenape) indian village. Very loosely translated, Kittanning mean "place by the big River" or "on the great river". You get the idea.
