Very good try! Colin Powell was trying to convince the UN to vote to attack Iraq because of violations of 1441. But once Powell and the Bush administration saw that the UN wasn’t going to vote to invade Iraq (as they did in the first Gulf War) that was the last you ever heard of 1441. Plus we now know that Saddam had no nuclear, biological or chemical weapons, not even buried ones. This has been proven time and time again. Let’s also not forget that everything or almost everything that Powell said in front of the UN about Saddam’s WMD also has been proven not true. It’s probably why Powell left the Bush administration not long after that, because he was embarrassed. But your proof only shows Powell trying to convince the UN, what it doesn’t show is that the US actually invaded Iraq for the sole reason, like you said, because of UN violations. The 2 reasons said over and over again by everyone in the White House was WMD’s and Saddam/al-Qaeda connections.
Also, one of the reasons Bush wanted UN approval was that polls in the US showed the American people didn’t want to go to war with Iraq on their own, if we had to go, it should be done through the UN.
Nice try, though.
BTW, I don’t know how much of that you read, but it also has proof in there that UN weapons inspectors and the IAEA was in Iraq before we invaded, just like I said. Thanks for proving that point further.
So, keep working on those 17 proofs. I’m still waiting!
