working online?

Does anybody on this board work online, or know someone who does?
I have been unemployed for a while now and need to get some money coming in until I get a decent paying job. Online work seems like it would be a good fit because it would allow me time to search for work or attend classes.
I'd like to talk to somebody who actually works online about which companies are legit, which are bogus, what the pay is like, etc..
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
