I read your post and tend to agree with parts of it. I left Kittanning in 95 at age 21 and moved to Phoenix. Talk about culture-shock! Anyway it was 3 years before I went home to visit, and I could not believe how small the town was! Small towns are good though in many ways. The problem with Kittanning is that it is stagnate, going nowhere. And the people living there don't see that. I think it's one of those things that you can see better on the outside looking in. With the beautiful scenery & location of the town so much could be done, but we're dealing with people who've mostly never been more than 30 miles outside of K-town and don't realize theres a whole new world outside of there. Plus I think a lot of the older people who live there have a "its good enough" attitude and don't realize how much better it could be, because they have nothing to compare it to.
