It's a better deal than both the pirates and steelers got for their stadiums/leases.
The problem that Lemieux sees in the deal is that he wants developemental rights on some of the property around the arena, but the state wants to sell that off to developers. He also wants to pay less each year to lease the new arena. which isnt high anyways.
Next year he can extend the lease to mellon area for one year for nothing. He wants to extend that and have the new arena for the year after that.
I still say the pens owners are getting a hell of a deal, and if they keep refusing, I say let them go to KC.
