: High school kids cannot work during school hours and there are many minimum wage jobs they are forbid to do because it involved dangerour machinery. I've heard that statement before, "minimum wag is for high school kids....not ment for families to live off of." That doesn't change the fact that many people do...and it doesn't change the fact that regardless of who is doing the job, when a company can AFFORD to pay a higher wage, they should. I can remember a day when store clerks and gas station attendents were considered "real jobs"----jobs people lived off of. How much profit does a company have to make before they should have to pay a decent wage?

Businesses like Wal Mart don't pay more because they won't get more. Look at the people they have working there now. Some are great, many are not. If they paid them more, they would only get more problems, lawsuits and complaints. More work would be the only thing they wouldn't get from their employees.

So many don't want to earn anything. They "deserve" a living wage. I couldn't find one either, so I worked 75 hours per week for the last ohhhh 13 years, and I've saved, and prayed, and kept on pushing, now I make plenty.

Don't think for a minute that the sloth employees (select employees, not all) you see up there are worth a dime more. If they were, they'd be making it somewhere else. If they paid more, they'd have to fire many of their existing employees to make room for someone worthy of the pay. Then they'd have lawsuits out the watuzee for discrimination.

We have a minimum wage for minimum wage worthy employment. If you don't know crap, and they train you to do a job, you do it at the wage offered. Plain and simple. If everyone was so freakin worthy, we wouldn't be having this thread now would we?
