Hello Kittanning! Made an overnite visit while traveling over the Thanksgiving weekend and was surprised with some of the changes since my last visit a few years ago. It looks like some positive changes are being made to the old Hometown. I wanted to visit the Amish area of the county in the Plumville area and was very impressed with the quality shops in Smicksburg. Now, I'm not sure if this is still in Armstrong county, but the short drive to the area was well worth the trip. How long has this area been under developement? I don't remember this being a tourist stop before. There were buses and cars from many different states and plenty of visitors shopping. I particularly enjoyed stopping at the William and Mary Gift Shop and the Amish Country Furniture Store located together in the same building. Very friendly area residents with unique quality items at reasonable prices. I would recommend these two establishments to anyone who is looking for oak furniture and country decor furnishings. There are many other shops and a unique winery there too. Thanks for making my visit memorable! Dave
