Great to see someone shed some light on the true narrow-minded thinking of council. When something that could seem to be immoral benefits them, they are all for it. It appears that this new establishment has went above what is required, to ensure a well run venture. If I was to start a new venture or build in Kittanning. After one session of there mind-set I would go across the river to and build and start a business. It appears the Kittanning Boro is doing nothing but creating restrictions and hindering progressive individuals, with all this landlord license,codes officer stifling, and council that wants to turn this into a retirement community. Thank God they weren't on council when this town was devoloped, we would only have a population of 500 by now.
: Good morning to all the SIMPLE MINDS of Kittanning Borough. As always, the Kittanning Borough council members brought comedy and relief to the television screen last night thru there monthly disorganized meeting. As I see it all the members of the Kittanning Borough are hypocrites. All but one member voted no to transfer the bar license from Ford City to Kittanning. But at the end of the meeting the President of the Board requested that the borough allow fireman to serve alcohol and gamble in the park. This was a mixed message. But really who are the members of the board serving? It's not you or I, it's their friends who own business in town. The members of the board could care less about you or I. They are just serving themselves. I understand the importance of our fire departments, but come on, why doesn't the borough deal with the tough issues at hand. Maybe its time to consolidate all the fire companies. I know that it would be unpopular, but let's face it, it needs done. But no one on council wishes to tackle the big problems facing the borough. But wait, lets limit the number of pets a family can own. That is a big problem in town. But let not tackle the issue of business leaving the borough. I guess they are unable to address these issues because they are SIMPLE MINDED people without the conviction to really start addressing the problems of our community. Do we really need another fire truck? Can the taxpayers of Kittanning afford to fund another fire truck? This year were record highs for gas bills. What is the borough doing to assist our many seniors citizens who can not afford to pay their monthly gas bills or taxes. Let's raise the taxes so we can pay for a new fire truck. I would suggest the next time the fire department sends someone to speak on their behalf, he knows what he is talking about. As evident by last nights meeting they are doing NOTHING. Let's not talk about the big drug problems in town. That will be our secret. But we have this nice park and lets serve alcohol and gamble while the business we still have in Kittanning either close or move to another location. When all the business leave don't worry the borough ordered more parking tickets to continue generating money. Look for a parking meter coming to the your location. No matter where you live in the borough. They need there parking money.
