This one harkens away back to the Steelers heyday on the 70's.
You see, we had already won 4 Super Bowls in the 70's and we were just itchin for the "one for the thumb". This of course refers to the 5th Super Bowl Championship Ring.
During one of his radiocasts, when it looked as if the Steelers could possibly win another Championship he started saying "this could be it" ..."what we've all been waiting for" ..."that 1 for the thumb in '81".
Then when it was coming down to cruch time he would tell the players and fans to put their thumbs up their butts to "warm up that thumb for the ring".
So this year, I guess we'll all be sitting with our OTHER thumb up our butts!!
