Why in May? Why $3? : : : : : This is just more "the sky is falling" horseshit. Gas SHOULD be $3. It hasn't raised in price much at all in the past 30 years when compared to inflation. How far can a car go on a gallon of gas? The average car, probably about 18 miles. Would you walk to Freeport for $3? : : : : : I'm so sick and tired of people whining about how much gas is. People will stand in line at Sheetz complaining about paying $2.50 for a gallon of gas while holding a 16 oz bottle of pop they're paying $1.89 for. Or they'll argue the point while drinking bottle after bottle of beer at $2 a crack. : : : : I read it on the Internet, May is when people start driving more for the summer ( Memorial Day) - did you notice it went up a little latelt from $2.15 to 2.29? I get a chuckle from people that say why worry at the price of gas , it is actually cheap when compared to other things. Too bad your car can't run on pop or water. You have to put gas in your car to make it go. You don't have to drink bottled water, you don't have to drink pop, you don't have to eat steak but you do have to put gasoline in your car or you don't go , I know you will say about diesel or ethanol but most cars can't run on those. : : Really? Gas makes cars go? I thought there were squirrels under the hood. : People DO buy bottled water though. Do you buy pop? Do you eat steak? That's the point. You don't HAVE to buy pop or steak, but you DO. At $3 a gallon, 16 oz of gas is 37 1/2 cents as opposed to the $1.89 we pay without complaining. If gas cost as much as pop, it would be $15 a gallon. Pop is much cheaper to make than gas. As is WATER obviously. : You can get on the net and learn how to make biodiesel for about 50 cents a gallon. It's easy and takes a minimal amount of money to set up the equipment. (basically just plastic containers, hoses and a filter of some sort) Probably much much easier than a meth lab. : People make meth. How many people make biodiesel? : There's even one way of converting your car so you can burn vegetable oil without converting it to biodiesel. So there you go...problem solved. : I'll bet you keep buying gas though. I know I will. : I'm not saying that they COULDN'T sell it much much cheaper. They are definately gouging us. But it is still relatively cheap. The ones who are REALLY gouging us are the NATURAL gas and propane companies, who justify raising their prices because the price of oil goes up. One has nothing to do with the other. It's not like people can just switch to natural gas when the price of fuel oil gets too high. : You are right though, the reason they do this is because they KNOW we can't go without these things. We have to pay whatever they charge. I think fuels and utilities should all be govt' regulated, like electricity used to be. : I'm just sayin' that people complain about gas when they are more than willing to pay much more inflated prices for other things.
