> The Mothman Sightings were in the late 1960's taking place in the time span of one year. Several people said they saw a winged creature that was seven feet tall with huge red eyes. Around this same times all sorts of UFO sightings as well as visits by "Men in Black" to residents was reported. All the sightings culminated with the collapse of the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River in Dec. '68 or '69 I don't remember. Around 40 people were killed and after this event no more sightings occurred. The book I read on the subject was "The Mothman Prophecies" by John Keel. The book was interesting to me since I'm pretty familiar with the area but it's really interesting to see what these people went through in this very small town. I can't believe that this is being made into a movie though. It seems a little far fetched. When I watched the movie "Men in Black" I was amazed how many things in that movie matched what they said went on in Point Pleasant. You can buy the book and other Mothman merchandise at www.criminalrecords.com It's a local record store that has take interest in the Mothman in the last few years. Well, Kittaning keep me posted about filming news regarding Kittaning and if it's still being used.
I am actually a resident of Point Pleasant, WV. My grandfather was a State Policeman during the time the Mothman was a big hit. The bridge fell in on Dec. 15 1967, 42 innocent lives were lost. Other than that you hit the nail on the head about the creature of the night who still haunt us all...
Thanks,
