: : : anyone else hear that the County Commissioners had something to do with Butler Community College no longer offering a discounty rate for Armstrong County residents? they will be paying full credit cost from now on, seems the Commish's said no one should be goinbg out of county with IUP being right next door..What gives them the right to decide where anyone can get educated?

: : I never knew they did offer a discount. Why would they? Do Butler county residents get a discount or any other county for that matter.I wouldn't think the commissioners would do anything like that, again this is Armstrong County and crazier things have happened.

: I went to their website and tuition for 2005-2006 is 88 per credit for Butler Co, residents, $98 per credit for Armstrong and Lawrence Co's and $159 for other Pa counties and $2 something for out of state.

Those are the fees for right now, as of Fall 06, the tuition will be doubled and they are gratefully (ha) going to waive the $10 out of county fee. The reason for this is that Armstrong County is no longer a BC3 sponsor. We are not the only county that has decided to stop sponsoring, there are a few other ones too. I was upset when I found this out being as I am a student there now. I am not sure if it was the commisioners that made that decision or not. I, myself, am not thrilled with this outcome. There is another thing happening at BC3 that is good news though, there are certain University's that are teaming up with BC3 and you can obtain a degree from these certain 4 yr colleges and still keep attending classes at BC3.
