Fuel line freeze up is not caused by the gas itself but by water in the tank at the gas station. Basically, the newer the tanks, the less likely you are to have freeze up. You can actually get it many times from just one fill up at a station where there is water in the gas. The water separates from the gas and can remain in your tank for a long time. If you get freeze up, your best bet (once you get your car started) is to put some dry gas in your tank, run it until it is almost empty, then fill up somewhere with good tanks. I use Sheetz gas almost exclusively and have NEVER had fuel line freeze up. BP has the big ad campaign "You go or BP pays your tow". That is only if you can prove you get ALL your gas from BP. Also, they will probaby just dump some dry gas in your tank and send you on your way. Either way, you are stuck on the side of the road for at least 1/2 hour. All the more freeze up actually happens and as hard as it would be to prove you only used one brand of gas...ANY gas company could make this claim and still make money off it.
Bottom line....stay away from gas stations with old tanks.
