Read more on it Fred, they applied for a banking license, now these banking associations are opposing them, some politicians are opposing it. This isn't the first time they have tried banking, they tried in 1999 to buy a bank and were turned down.I think the banking association is afraid, if Walmart would ever get in , they would probably revolutionize the industry and drive many banks out of business, just as they have done in the retail business, it would be better for us consumers but the politicians and bankers would lose money and power so screw the little guy as usual.
