: : : : : : : : : : : : Great job last night Sabers! Nice to see Ford City bring more fans than the home team. The game vs Burrell next week should be very entertaining. Two great teams.

: : : : : : : : : : : : Lets Go Burrell Bucs!!!

: : : : : : : : : : Yea, we will smash them the way we did the Pussycats!

: : : : : : : : : Let's go Ford City Sabers beat Burrell Bucs

: : : : : : : : What's the big deal about football.. I mean what makes people act so crazy. Maybe it's just because I never go into football that I don't get all crazy over the FC, Kittanning thing. But it all just seems crazy to me to get all worked up over a game and acting like children over who is gonna win or who is gonna lose. When did it all stop being just fun for the players. When did it turn into this big old rivalry thing.

: : : : : : : Nothing wrong with having a rivalry. What is bad about it? Look at the Phillies and Pirates rovalry of the 70's. The Steelers and The Browns has been a long-storied rivalry, and nobody got emotionally scarred over it.

: : : : : : : If you do not like joining in that is fine, but there is nothing wrong in displaying some hometown pride against a neighboring community. The ones who keep trying to sequester emotions and ripping away history are the people who need to grow up.

: : : : : : I'm not saying there is anything wrong with rivalry. But I do notice that some people take it a little to far. And those are the people that I don't understand.

: : : : :
: : : : : The rivalry has been going on over 50 years, I don't think there is much of a one anymore, it used to be a lot worse, then they were one team when they consolidated the schools ( Armstrong) then they didn't play for a few years and the last few have been playing again. I think it is more of a friendly rivalry now.

: : : : Well if the school board gets its way we probably won't have to worry about this anyway. Isn't there dream just one big school?

: : :
: : : You said it- "dream", I don't see it in the future but as far as taxes go, it would be a good idea, I think it would be good for the students also.

: : Yeah it would be good for the students. I know when they first brought the schools together nobody really cared much for it, but it didn't take long before we were all friends.

: I don't know where you got that BS from. I was there. There were some that were friends but it was more or less segregated into Ford city side and Kittanning side. Real fun for the kids.

I graduated from Armstrong Central and it was definitely not segregated into KHS an FCHS. That is a bunch of BS that all the "has been" parents try to peddle so they can continue clinging onto their old high school rivalries. The only students that had a problem with the consolidaiton were the ones that had a parent that had a problem with it. Everyone knew who they were and they were thought of as a joke. It was/is embarassing listening to these losers speak for the kids.

15 years later and I still have close friends from the "other side" of Armstrong Central.
