Bill Heider (now of Kittanning) lived in Galipolis in 1967 and was one of the first to NOT be on the Silver Bridge. He and four friends were carpooling from the Goodyear tire plant south of Point Pleasant and had to stop to air up one tire before heading home. When they crossed the Kanauga Bridge, the Silver Bridge was still up.
