How 'bout Shuster's solution to the problem with the dip on Water st in front of the old Bauer Block... just putting a bunch of asphalt on top of it. There's obviously a reason why the street keeps sinking in. Why not fix it right? I hardly think throwing down thousands of dollars of material (in some places probably over a foot thick) is the right thing to do.
I guess the state is doing the same thing up along the river road though. Meanwhile the rails-trails guys are cutting away all the ground cover holding the hillside together below and digging it all up. I hope they are ready to fix the highway when it slides down onto the trail.
By "they" I mean the rails-trails people.
I imagine Penn DOT will end up paying for that screw up though.
