its pretty entertaining how some ppl bitch about lowering of wages, benefits, etc. which is understandable.. but they dont understand why the company is doing it. just like each worker, the company is trying to make as much profit as it can as a whole. they pay someone more to do work that isnt as profitable, then everyone company wide is hurt. just because some of the work may be physical, making toilets isnt brain surgery and isnt the preferred career path of many, so of course it wont pay top dollar. by cutting the wages or benefits of the workers the company is keeping the jobs here instead of moving them to mexico or wherever. some ppl have to think of it that way, would they rather be hurt a little monetarily right now, or not have a job altogether? people act like the top ppl in companies are just out to get themselves rich, i happen to work for a place that isnt union and prides itself on keeping its employees happy. and as of the past 5 yrs the company has grown 25% each yr and its not like its even a start up.. its been around 30 yrs now. eljer may want to shake up its business model a little bit, but of course the union would step in and prevent that totally.
