: : : So did anyone go the anti-drug rally? I was curious as to the turn out./////////// I went down Jen.Were about 150 people there.Recieved a lot of info about the drug problem in our area.Didn't know it was so bad.Frank did a fine job orginizing the event.Good speakers and lots of handouts.Talked about about block watches, I'm going to join, helping the police with shady people in the neighborhood. It has been working in Kittanning.Thought more people would have attended.Nice write up in todays paper.
: : : Jen

: How ironic that we had a antidrug rally in the park yest and at the same time the judge dismissed the most serious charge against those involved when that 17 yr old overdosed in East Franklin. Those resposible will not only get a slap on the wrist, at most. I'm confused, are you?
: We need to contact our legislators about this. Agree or disagree?

I agree. I think you will see this changed within the next two years. Dealers will be held accountable for overdoses. Society has changed and so should the laws. We need stiffer sentences on those that deal. We have seen outstanding contempt for the users, but what about the pushers? And before the likes of some people on this board begin calling it a "liberal" thing, most of the decisions have been ruled by conservative judges in regards to the "dealers." They prey on the users but disregard the dealers. I did not want to turn this into a political outing, but some people cannot have it both ways. They like to make it a "left" vs. "right" battle, so before that even starts, I wanted to set the record straight. I BELIEVE that most of the judges, despite their political affiliation have failed us as the public. If you stop the pushers, you stop the users. I want harsher laws expanded. We also need more law enforcement which comes from funding from the federal and state government!!!!!!!!! You cannot have it both ways.

Contact your legislators!!!
