They both suck.
The Folk Festival could be great if it weren't for the fact that the Elks and the YMCA whine everytime they try to move it down to the lower (and NICER!!!) end of the park. They have a park where the County spent $6 million to renovate. It is beautiful, but what do they do. They have the entertainment on a plywood stage in the Y's yard instead of in the ampitheater they have along the river. They make everyone use portajohns instead of the public bathrooms. They make eveyone scamper around for parking when there are 4 municiple parking lots on the lower end of town (one DIRECTLY across from the ampitheater!). Those are ways they could make it BETTER.
But they aren't interested in that. They are only interested in trying to make more money for thae Festival, even if it is at the expense of the Kittanning Borough and it's taxpayers.
They could also sell beer at the thing like they do at the tarentum festival. That would generat alot of maney and attract alot more people.
I guess they'll just keep letting the Elks and the Y and the Old Fuddys who don't even go to the thing run the show. I remember a few years back they had the Clarks playing down at the Plywood Pavilion in the Y's yard. No beer...and after 2 songs all the Fuddy's were slamming thier lawn chairs shut and growling thier geriatric growls about how terrible it was. It could have been a great show and made alot of money if it weren't for the way things are ran by the festival commitee.
