: : : : : Looks like the school board is thinking of opting in on Act 72, great!!! Anything that wil save the taxpayers a few bucks. I know STOP is against this, who knows why, but their agenda will never come to light so lets try and save something for the taxpayer.

: : : : I had to miss the meeting at the high school.
: : : : How did it go?

: : : I didn't go either, from what it said in the paper , not too many went and they should expect this. People are apathetic until something happens.Todays LT sounds like they are going to opt in and taxpayers now might receive about $350.

: : I had all intentions of going. Unfortunately a family member landed in hospital the night before the meeting, so niether of us could attend. It was not apathy, at least in my case anyhow. I know by the looks of that article that Solak and Bartosh will probably vote to opt in. I don't know about the rest. They (the board) could be planning on having only the most secure members cast the votes to opt out so that it looks like they gave it a chance. This way 2 or 3 of the board members who are on the fence re-eletion wise will get to cast "opt in" votes while not really affecting the outcome that the board really wants. Unless the end result of the board's vote is opting in, every one of the board members needs to be voted out. It is interesting that Solak, Bartosh and Rupp all seem to agree on this. I don't think all three have ever agreed on anything. Maybe they will ALL come to thier senses.

: Bartosh isn't running for another term and Solak isn't even up for reelection for 2 more years. I was at the high school meeting. I also have attended several board meetings recently. I get a kick out of the few random quotes that hit the paper or are taken out of context. Solak and Bartosh both did say straight out they were ready to opt in. The rest of the board has asked a lot of questions and made comments, but none to make me believe any of them are committed one way or the other yet. If you want to know the whole story, attend the meetings.

Rumor I hear is that at one of the school board meetings they talked about buying Lenape Vo Tech. Do you know if that is true? Don't we have other school districts that are in that? What do they think?
