In December, they had a special audition for the 7-10 year old caucasion boy who would play the part of Laura Linney's son. I heard that a couple hundred showed up, many didn't pass the first screening which wasn't even inside the building. Needless to say, only one got the part.
In January when they had possible photo doubles go to RIDC, they had a big turn-out... only one or two made the final cut. Like the lottery, not everybody wins but you'll have a story to tell.
Back about ten years or so, I tried out for two game shows in Los Angeles, drove 8 hours one way to get there. Passed a written test for both of them (first elimination both places) - even got to play a "test" game on one to see if I "MIGHT" look good on camera. Bleep! then I got to drive home.
