I want to make sure everyone sees my response to the "KHS Junior" who was complaining about the high school exit exam and the seals students are to have placed on their diplomas.
The message was NOT funny. Whoever wrote the message probably wanted to stir up some action on this message board.
You want a teacher's point of veiw? Well, you got it, KHS Junior.
My opinion is that we SHOULD have state testing and SHOULD have gateways for students to pass through before they are promoted to the next grade level or be eligible to graduate.
Teachers SHOULD be responsible for what product they turn out...and if state testing is the only way to ensure this, then so be it. I'm not afraid to be held responsible because I do my job every day. The students are the ones who need to pick up the slack and get motivated to learn. Kids today think that the world is going to hand them everything...a good job, material things, etc. WAKE UP. Those students who are doing their job in the classroom would not complain at taking a performance test to prove they are competent enough to be a productive citizen in society.
By the way, I graduated from KHS...how dare you insult the fine teachers from that school by pretending to be an uneducated person. No teacher in his or her right mind would have promoted you with the writing skills you displayed.
Whoever you are, take responsibility...Like...by being for real...and get some tutoring.
