: : : This statement had me rolling on the floor laughing, which I shouldn't be doing as I'm 1 week post op from back surgery. But this one was just classic. Here's the statement I loved:

: : : and I quote: "Too afaird to face the facts even when some one lays out for you in plain English............"

: : Hello Jenny and everyone. It's The Unknown. I see in this backwoods area, many people wish to think if two people think alike that they're one and the same. Wrong thought people because I am not Terry. I do believe I have hit a nerve with some of you. Besides that fact, let's see just how many of you intelligent people can offer a logical solution to the one of the major issues facing the directors of the school board. Put your brains together and let's see if anyone can come up with a smart answer for once.

: : How could the school district attend to the maintance needs, state requirements, local building codes, and federal mandates on each building in the school district? This would mean keeping all current buildings including the ones in need of desperate repairs such as Elderton, the ones without anymore potential such as Lenape, the ones with potential such as Kittanning TWP., and so on. This would also mean your solution would have to be better than the current ideas on board that would raise taxes by about 30 to 40 percent in a ten year span? The solution wouldn't be to close current schools, build new schools to replace ones in need of too many repairs, and it wouldn't involve the idea of putting one school into another one.

: : If you can honestly answer this problem with an honest answer, I want to you to respond please. This would hopefully bring a little to this whole topic. Maybe then you will see the need to think of closing Elderton, moving Lenape to Kittanning TWP., building a new school for the West Hills to combine current schools in need of repairs, and other ideas that five of the board directors try to show is the RIGHT way!

:
: It doesn't make sense to keep them open. Close Elderton, send them to Shannock or let them go to Apollo. Keep Lenape , close Kitt .Twp, close Ford City and Kittanning high schools and build a new building or add on to Lenape Vo Tech, let more students untilize the Vo Tech and acquire immediate job skills. If Elderton is closed, you won't need Kitt. township- those kids will be at Shamokin or Apollo.Keep West Hills and Kitt middle school which will have Ford City students in it. also.

Good thoughts from someone first againest my earlier comments. Weird how sometimes people make a U-Turn. Your answers are sort of on the right path. However, I can't agree with Apollo only because it isn't Armstrong School District. Anyone have thoughts?
