: Just wondering how many smokers out there take this day seriously. Is it truly a day for you to test yer willingness or interest in quitting ? .. or .. is it just a day for non-smokers to annoy you or harass you ??
: I have a friend or two who actually DO want to participate .. not sure if I should get involved with 'ENCOURAGING' them .. or if they would just want to choke me in a nicotine fit by lunchtime .. hehehe
I think its a day for non smokers to harass smokers. I watched a documentary last week called Super Size Me, it was about fast food and how truly damaging it is to your body to eat it frequently. They mentioned being at a dinner party with very obese people, and the obese people ganged up on the 1 smoker. How would society react if someone walked up to an overweight person who was eating a Big Mac and said "hey buddy, you need to quit eating that, you're too unhealthy/fat & really ought to quit"? Trust me, it wouldn't be tolerated. Yet people feel content to eat McDonalds 3 times a week and clog their arteries & pack on the pounds, yet smokers are not tolerated anywhere. Its nuts. I've tried to quit smoking 3 times already, and what I've learned is you cannot quit because someone else wants you to - you can only quit when you want to.
