As to the other board, you DO NOT have to give your real name. you have to give a username, which you will use to log in to the board. You can use "rat hole" if you want, you do have to give a valid email address which you can HIDE from the public view. They need the valid email to send you an inital password to log in.

: We have been through this debate a hundred times already. Okay, first of all, I can do the same thing as Carl here has on my server. The problem is I don't have 24 hours in a day to stay logged in to monitor everything to keep the shit from hitting the fan without some major dollars. The second problem is this type forum is actually less secure than a forum like kittanning.conforums.com because this is what is known as a Perl script with a .cgi type database. Anyone with half a brain could send this entire forum down and knock out anyone who ever has posted on here simply by getting into the .cgi which mind you isn't as difficult as getting into something like a MySQL database. I have a solution to this entire problem of the e-mail. If anyone wishes to sign up for kittanning.conforums.com and is uncomfortable giving an e-mail address, let me know. I have a domain name set up and can give you vaild e-mail addresses just for this purpose alone. I am already 10 steps ahead of any problem you can throw my way. I have been in web development and internet technology since 1992. I don't let problems become problems. I have over 30 plus websites including some very large, very known, very secure e-commerce websites. I promise you that this vaild e-mail address I issue will resolve any issues you might have. Now, also, we're not just talking a message board, people. (NOTICE: JEN, HOW EVERYONE THINKS THIS SAME THING?) We're talking an entire website devoted to Kittanning and the wonderful people miss a hundred that live here.
And in reference to me stealing from Carl. What am I stealing? I don't think anything. If you can't run with the big dogs then stay on the porch. What I mean is this web site has gone untouched, not updated, and out of control for quite some time. It's not my fault that I own and operate a web development company. It's not my fault that I will spare my time to give something to the community and make dern sure it doesn't become an unpleasent experience. Don't blame me for stealing anything. There are more than 82 billion plus websites out there and more than 22 million new ones every day. If you don't like the way things are, you either (and pardon my French) poop or get off the pot. Either you step in and do something to better everyone or sit there with fingers to a keyboard complaining, bitching, whining, and such. I am not going to claim better. I will let the people be the judge of that. I will not claim to steal anything because there's nothing to steal, RAT HOLE.
