Tourist Bureau
Upper Market Street
Inside this office are people who enjoy making your visit a pleasure to remember. Brochures are available for walking tours of nearby towns and cities that are not on the internet. Audiotapes are available for driving tours, just plug one in and listen as you drive towards either Freeport or Parker City.
Looking for outdoor recreation? There's lots of information, maps, and brochures at the Tourist Bureau.
Want to help the kids tune into nature? The Army Corps of Engineers pamphlet has a schedule of butterfly migrations, the emergence of different species of wildflowers, and when you can see fireflies. Coming up soon in the final week of June is the first cutting of hay and also bullfrogs calling.

We've really enjoyed showing you some of the sights of our town, some of the people out in the country call it a city but we don't think so... We figure if we want some city life, we just have to drive a little south into Pittsburgh. No problem! In the meantime we have a bit more peaceful place to enjoy up here. It's pretty neat sitting in the park watching the lights reflect off the river at night.
If you have a chance, stop by in person and see all the little nice things stuck in between what you just saw. We have crafters and quilters and antiquers in town and out of town. If you stop in on a Friday or Saturday, those are the best times to shop at just a bunch of yard sales, garage sales, and flea markets.
Thanks again for stopping in, and.....
Seeya soon we hope!
