The BPOE Elks Building
originally know as Finlayston
Anther unique residence built overlooking the river, the Elks building is an example of the Second Empire style. It was constructed as a gift from James E. Brown to his daughter Jane Bratton Brown Finlay and the estate became popularly known as Finlayston.
Following the death of Jane Finlay, the Finlays' daughter Phoebe returned to the British Isles and married an Englishman Lord Adolphus Frederick Stewart-Linton. The two resided alternately in Kittanning and England for the remainder of their lives.

The colorful history of this house includes it being used as a residence by the Finlays, Lord and Lady Stewart-Linton, a business school, and a boarding house before the Elks bought it in 1915.
